The Vietnam Block B Gas Project – EPCI#1 has officially achieved the milestone of 5 Million LTI-Free Safe Man-hours, marking a significant accomplishment in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance. The commemoration ceremony also served as the occasion to launch the CPP Topside Milestone Campaign. This achievement stands as a testament to the effective collaboration among the PQPOC, PTSC & McDermott, and PTSC M&C, in establishing a comprehensive safety management system that meets international standards.

Reaching 5 Million LTI-Free Safe Man-hours in an offshore oil and gas project of this scale is a remarkable achievement — particularly as the Block B Gas Project EPCI#1 is now in its most intensive construction phase. With increasing workloads and mounting schedule pressures, sustaining a high level of safety performance requires not only well-established processes, but also discipline, consistency, and a strong daily commitment from every individual on site.

Throughout this critical phase, risk control measures were consistently implemented across all levels. Regular toolbox talks, periodic training sessions, emergency response drills, site inspections, and strict compliance with personal protective equipment requirements were maintained as standard practice. More importantly, the human factor proved decisive— workforce awareness, risk identification capability, and a strong sense of accountability collectively shaped a proactive safety culture. The "One Team – One Goal" principle guided coordination across all stakeholders and remained the common thread binding all efforts together.

At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Hoai Nam, Deputy General Director of PTSC, shared: "The achievement of 5 Million LTI-Free Safe Man-hours is the result of making the right decisions every day — from building habits and a strong safety culture to the contributions of every individual on the project. It reflects strict compliance with safety regulations, the willingness to speak up when risks are identified, and the choice to follow proper procedures rather than taking shortcuts. All of these have contributed to the result we celebrate today."

Building on this milestone, Mr. Pham Van Chuan – Chairman of the PTSC M&C Trade Union – officially launched the CPP Topside Milestone Campaign, in response to the Worker's Month and the National Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health. The campaign focuses on 5 keys areas, demanding close coordination across all disciplines to maintain the overall schedule while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.

This milestone reinforces the project's commitment to maintaining the highest HSE standards as it moves into the next phases, with safety remaining the foundation for delivering the project on schedule and to the required quality.
