On 22 April 2026, the Baltica 2 project team convened at PTSC M&C’s fabrication yard in Ho Chi Minh City to mark a significant achievement: the completion of 5 million man-hours without a single Lost Time Injury (LTI). The ceremony, jointly organised by the SMPTSC consortium — comprising Semco Maritime and PTSC M&C — and project owner Ørsted-PGE, brought together project leaders, engineers, and workers to recognise the collective commitment that made this milestone possible.

Since the first steel cutting on 27 November 2024, the project has delivered outstanding results: overall progress exceeding 95%, full completion of structural, mechanical, piping, and HVAC works, and EIT progress surpassing 98%. Soak testing on Z01 is scheduled to commence by 24 April 2026, marking the next critical step toward sail-away.
Representing project owner Ørsted, Mr. Ulrik Lange, Managing Director of the Baltica 2 project, commended the team's unwavering dedication: "5 million hours without an LTI is proof of the dedication and teamwork behind this chievement — and a reminder that we must continue to build on it every day. At Ørsted, safety and quality are non-negotiable. We aim for a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility, where open communication is encouraged, and where we constantly strive for even higher standards."

They are clear evidence of strong commitment, hard work, close collaboration, and the valuable support contributed by all project members and stakeholders throughout this journey."

The 5-million-manhour milestone is not merely a statistic. It reflects a deeply embedded safety culture cultivated through daily toolbox talks, rigorous training, proactive hazard identification, and a “one team, one goal” ethos shared across all three organisations. As the project advances into its final commissioning phase for all four offshore substations, the same commitment to collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement will underpin every step toward a safe and successful sail-away.
