Vung Tau, Vietnam, 12 September 2026 – Baltica 2 representatives, together with the EPC consortium of Semco Maritime and PTSC M&C, held a ceremony at PTSC M&C’s fabrication yard to mark the successful completion, load-out and sail-away of four offshore substations (OSS) for the Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm.
The event brought together representatives of the project developers, consortium partners, key contractors and subcontractors, as well as the engineers, supervisors and workforce behind the delivery.

A strategic project for Poland’s offshore wind development
Baltica 2 is being developed jointly by PGE and Ørsted in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea, approximately 40 kilometres off the Polish coast. With a planned capacity of approximately 1.5 GW, Baltica 2 is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to meet the power consumption of approximately 2.5 million Polish households. As Poland’s largest offshore wind farm, the project will make an important contribution to the country’s energy transition and the continued development of its offshore wind industry.

In August 2026, PGE and Ørsted completed the installation of all 111 monopile foundations - 107 for the wind turbines and four for the offshore substations - on schedule. The arrival of the four substations will enable the project to progress into the next stage of offshore installation and electrical integration.
From Vung Tau to the Baltic Sea
The campaign began on 6 August 2026 with the load-out of the first modular support frame. By 1 September, all four modular support frames had been successfully loaded out and had departed PTSC M&C’s fabrication yard.
In parallel, the first offshore substation topside was loaded out on 10 August. By 13 September, all four topsides had successfully completed load-out and sail-away from PTSC M&C’s fabrication yard, bringing the campaign to a successful conclusion. Across the campaign, all four OSS topsides and four modular support frames were safely transferred from the fabrication yard and prepared for their marine voyage to Poland.

The first two Baltica 2 offshore substation topsides began their sail-away from PTSC M&C’s fabrication yard on 1 September 2026.
Across the campaign, four OSS topsides and four modular support frames were safely transferred from the fabrication yard and sent on their marine voyage to Poland. Each operation required detailed load-out engineering, precise coordination among the yard, port and marine teams, and strict control of load transfer, vessel readiness and sea-fastening activities.
Another landmark delivery for the Semco Maritime – PTSC M&C Consortium
For the Semco Maritime - PTSC M&C consortium, Baltica 2 builds on the successful delivery of the Hai Long 2 and Feng Miao 1 projects, and further strengthens its international track record in complex offshore substation projects. For PTSC M&C, Baltica 2 represents more than its first offshore substation delivery to Europe. It marks a strategic step in the company’s ambition to establish offshore wind as a long-term growth pillar, deepen its role in the global energy value chain and take on the next generation of HVAC and HVDC infrastructure.
The completion of load-out and sail-away reflects the sustained commitment of Ørsted, PGE, Semco Maritime, PTSC M&C and the wider project team to safety, quality and delivery throughout the project.
Today’s milestone does not mark the end of the Baltica 2 journey; it opens a new chapter. The offshore installation campaign is scheduled to commence in Q4 2026, followed by connection and commissioning activities in Poland.

The final two Baltica 2 offshore substation topsides departed Vung Tau for the Baltic Sea on 13 September 2026, marking the successful conclusion of the project’s load-out and sail-away campaign in Vietnam.
According to the project schedule, first power from Baltica 2 is expected in the first half of 2027, with full commercial operation planned by the end of 2027.
From Vung Tau, the four offshore substations now begin their journey to the Baltic Sea - bringing Baltica 2 closer to delivering renewable electricity to millions of Polish households and helping shape a more secure and sustainable energy future for Poland and Europe.
