PTSC M&C’s INVOLVEMENT IN DAMAN PROJECT

(5/4/2016)

On 15 January 2016, PTSC M&C was officially received the Letter of Award (LOA) from Swiber Offshore (India) for part of the Daman Project, in which ONGC (India) is the operator  and Swiber Offshore is the main EPCIC Contractor. This is the result from a long and complicated process between the parties, mainly caused of the project schedule (to be delivered in very short time).

The Daman Project work scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, transportation and installation for 08 wellhead platforms, 101 km pipeline (variable sizes) and modification of existing platforms. The EPCI contract was awarded to Swiber Offshore in early 2015 and completion is scheduled in Q1, 2017. PTSC M&C’s work scopes are mainly the Fabrication for 05 WHPs (including piles) for C24-P2, C24-P5, B12-11, B12-13 and B12-15 with total weight up to 13,000 tons. The fabrication schedule is expected from March to December 2016. With this very tight duration, schedule is the biggest challenge that PTSC M&C has to face off. However, taking the challenges, taking the advantages in difficult times is also a way to affirm PTSC M&C’s position and reputation in the international market and particularly in India.

The balance 3 platforms are under constructing by another Swiber’s subcontractor in Indonesia.
