Load-out ceremony of MLJ3 Topsides in Vietnam

In continuation to the successful load-out of the MLJ3 jacket at Muara Yard in Brunei, on 12 August 2015 PTSC M&C in coordination with Total E&P Borneo B.V (TEPB) celebrated the load-out ceremony for the MLJ3 topsides, part of the Maharaja Lela South (MLS) Project (the Project). After completion of transportation and installation, PTSC M&C will continue their work-scope in Brunei water in September 2015, ensuring targeted First Gas for the Client – TEPB.

Attending the ceremony were there representatives from Petroleum Brunei, Total E&P Borneo B.V, Shell Deepwater Borneo Limited, PetroVietnam, PTSC, the main contractor PTSC M&C as well as other subcontractors involved in the Project.

After more than 12 months of execution, onshore related workscope of the topsides was successfully completed, achieving more than 1.8 million working manhours free of lost time incidents and meeting highest quality standards as well as the most stringent schedule requirements of TEPB. Delivering his speech at the ceremony, Mr. Yves Grosjean – General Manager of TEPB highlighted that “PTSC M&C has demonstrated a really commendable level of engagement regarding HSE that materialized especially through the implementation of the HSE Incentive Scheme that was part of the Project execution… Now I would like to repeat that PTSC M&C had never worked for TOTAL anywhere in the world, which means that they had to discover the TOTAL Technical Referential, TOTAL habits and work practices. All through the various phases from Engineering to Procurement to Construction, PTSC M&C has definitely proved that they were up to the challenges of working for an International O&G Major.”

MLS is the second project PTSC M&C won from international competitive bidding in the years 2013 and 2014, followed by the wining of Heera Redevelopment project (HRD) built for ONGC/AFCONS in India. The Project workscope encompasses detailed engineering, procurement, construction, hook-up and commissioning for the MLJ3 topsides weighing 1,500 tons fabricated at PTSC M&C’s fabrication yard in Vietnam and the MLJ3 jacket of 2,350 tons built at Muara Yard, Brunei.

The completion of onshore work of the MLJ3 topsides again proves PTSC M&C’s growing capabilities as well as the endeavors of PetroVietnam and PTSC in stimulating the development and export of high quality technical services sector to a market beyond the country border. Those accomplishments do not only sustain employments for thousands of PTSC’s staffs but also become an important driven factor for the increase of foreign currencies in national budget.
