In October 2012, PQP Topsides – the last, most technically complicated and vital part of the Bien Dong 1 Project left PTSC Downstream Port and on route to its location offshore Vietnam, marking an important milestone for the Project after a 2-year marathon journey.
The Bien Dong 1 (BD1) Project is an EPCI turnkey project awarded to PTSC M&C by Bien Dong Petroleum Operating Company (Bien Dong POC). This is the first and greatest offshore project ever performed by a Vietnamese local contractor , opening up new horizons for the oil & gas industry in the future especially at the water depth of over 133 meters.
The scope of PTSC M&C’s work encompasses the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, offshore hook-up support for 01 Central Processing Platform (PQP-HT); 01 HT1 Wellhead Platform Topsides, 01 Link Bridge, 70km Pipelines and 21km Subsea Cables. The total weight of the whole project is approximately 60,000MT, in which the PQP-HT is more than 18,000 MT , the topsides of Central Processing Platform is over 12.000 MT. During the project execution, PTSC M&C applied numerous innovative approaches and materialized a huge amount of complicated designs. There was time Bien Dong POC and PTSC M&C had mobilized a huge resource of 3,300 people working under high pressure, striving daily in pursuit of work to ensure the smooth and successful project realization, safety, and high quality.
Having BD1 project fully completed is the testimony to the firm development of PTSC M&C and makes a positive contribution to position the company to be one of the reliable and high-quality mechanical and construction service providers in Vietnam and in the region./.
