PTSC M&C bagged Total Brunei MLS Project

(12/2/2014)

On 12 February 2014, PTSC M&C signed a contract with Total E&P Borneo B.V (TEPB) for the provision of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Hook-up and Commissioning services for the Maharaja Lela South (MLS) gas project off Brunei.

PTSC M&C clinched the contract with a local partner which will fabricate the jacket inside Brunei while the MLS topsides will be fabricated by PTSC M&C at its facility in Vietnam. The deck weighs approximately 1,500 tons, and jacket weight is estimated at 1,200 tons, excluding pile of 1,150 tons.

The detailed engineering work has been carried out by a joint team formed between PTSC M&C’s and Technip Vietnam’s engineers since February 2014, and is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2014. The jacket and piles are set for delivery in 16 months, with deck following a month after that.

MLS is the second project PTSC M&C won from international competitive bidding in the period of two years from 2013-2014. In 2013, PTSC M&C also bagged the project named Heera Redevelopment project (HRD) operated by ONGC in India. The project was awarded to PTSC M&C by AFCONS, an Indian EPC contractor in Q1/2013 of which work-scope includes procurement of bulk items and fabrication of the Heera Topsides weighing approximately 8,500 tons. The Project is scheduled for completion in Q4/2014.
